As Production Director, I hired and managed a production staff of about a dozen. The station had a history of an unproductive production staff, and my goal was to end the trend. As well as training them to use Pro Tools and our equipment, I also reorganized all the studios to be more efficient and spacious to facilitate more productivity. I introduced a protocol for creative and held weekly meetings to communicate, listen to materials, and brainstorm in an open environment about everything from what music to what movie samples.
By the time with U92 was over, the production team was a well-oiled machine and I was even able to create a new paid position, Associate Production Director to encourage growth. The team went on to help WWVU-FM win 2015 CMJ’s Station of the Year.
