The Hospice Council started a Facebook page in 2016, and I assisted with the setup process. I filled in important “About” information and tags that help with search engine optimization (SEO) as well as informing the audience of Hospice Council’s mission. I optimized images for the profile picture and cover photo which keep the organization looking clean and professional and added a call to action to show off their PSA video featuring Senator Shelley Moore Capito.
Once the page’s foundation was built, next was getting connected. First, I followed many organizations within the industry. This establishes relevant connections that effect search engine optimization (SEO) and allows you to monitor what others are doing in the industry, so you may be aware or even share to adopt more content of your own and connect with more people. Though it is important to connect with businesses that share your mission, you also must take other actions to build your followers. I offered recommendations to build an audience and to keep them interested with engaging content.
